The Jesus Experiment - Intro Video

The Jesus Experiment - TOPICS

This fall (September 26 – October 17) our teaching focus is called the “Jesus Experiment.” It’s based on a book by Bill Perkins.

Sunday, September 26, 2010 | Fear
It’s easy to think that since Jesus was God he didn’t struggle with fear or concerns about his future. But we need to remember that Jesus was also fully man. He experienced every human emotion, including fear. The issue isn’t whether or not he experienced fear but how he dealt with it. In the Garden of Gethsemane we find Jesus facing his fears head-on and overcoming them with a confident trust in God. In this chapter the reader will learn how to do what Jesus did when he encounters fear.

Sunday, October 3, 2010 | Overcame Evil

Nobody can overcome evil in their public life and in their relationships until they do so in their private life. Jesus encountered temptation in a very private setting and walked away victorious. The methods he used to resist temptation are as effective today as they were 2,000 years ago. In this chapter the reader will discover how to follow Jesus’ example when confronting evil in their private life.

Sunday, October 10, 2010 | Unexpectedly Help Others

Anybody who followed Jesus who would have been impressed by his eagerness to let others interrupt him. He let men, women and children intrude on his activities. Perhaps more impressive was his willingness to honor the “little guy” who had the courage and love to seek him out. The reader will discover how they can follow the example of Jesus by helping those who don’t expect their help.

Sunday, October 17 | He Empowers
Jesus not only provides us with an example of how to feel, think, speak and act – he gives us the power to follow in his steps. On the night before his death Jesus told his disciples how they could tap into his infinite power. In this chapter the reader will discover how to trust Jesus to live his life through them.
